RAISE project was launched on the 1st of October 2022, aspiring to promote transparency in the field of processing and sharing data. The project’s kick-off meeting took place in Thessaloniki (29th-30th November 2022) with more than 50 attendees of the 20 consortium partners from 10 different countries of the world: Greece, Spain, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Cyprus, Sweden, Belgium, UK and Canada!
The Secretary General EOSC Association AISBL, Ute Gunsenheimer also joined the meeting online, underling that “community is strength, and one of the project’s top priorities is to communicate EOSC identity. Hence, it is crucial that in every step taken, there should be strong support of the family branding through effective collaborations, strong initiatives, and continuous exchange of technical know-how”.
Moreover, RAISE Project coordinator, Dr. Evdokimos Konstantinidis pointed out that: “Technology and the researchers should both change and trust each other… What we do it’ s not about data. It’ s about scientists. At the end of the day, we need to ensure that the technology is useful, and accessible by the researchers. Our priority is researchers”.
All partners who attended the meeting shared their inspiring ideas and their own experience, willing to present the action plan they will implement during the 40 months that the project will run under the coordination of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation).
RAISE mission is to provide the researchers the opportunity not only accessing but also processing data in the most useful and convenient way while in the meantime saving time, enhancing productivity and ensuring the accreditation of their work.
At this initial project phase, along with the recent RAISE kick-off meeting it was given the trigger to start building RAISE community willing to use RAISE services. New synergies and research potentials will emerge from fruitful cooperations that guarantee a bright future of open access data in research.
RAISE is targeting the complete open science community, including SMEs and applied areas of research. And many more promising things are to come with great events, innovative initiatives and interesting updates.
